Why Vibrant?

Benefit from the Right to Repair

The "Right to Repair" movement advocates for the ability to repair, resell, and reuse electronic devices, particularly enterprise-level IT equipment. There are many reasons to support our movement.

  • The right to repair directly combats the problem of e-waste. Enabling businesses to repair their IT equipment extends the lifespan of their devices, reduces waste volume, conserves resources, and prevents environmental pollution from toxic electronic scrap.
  • Allowing companies to repair their own equipment offers significant cost savings to datacenters of all sizes and types. By reducing the need for frequent purchases of new equipment, the right to repair lowers the total cost of ownership and maximizes the return on investment of IT infrastructure.
  • The ability to resell and reuse not only extends the utility of electronic equipment, it also fosters a circular economy and provides smaller businesses, non-profits, and educational institutions with access to affordable technology, democratizing technology access and fostering economic growth.
  • Ensuring a robust right to repair encourages a competitive market for repairs, thereby improving service quality and reducing costs.

We advocate for the right to repair for all these reasons and more. There's very little reason to argue with the open competition in IT infrastructure that would result. We believe in creating an industry where enterprise IT equipment serves society's needs sustainably and efficiently, supporting a healthier planet and more equitable technology access.
